This is my first cute lil violet. I thought we looked great but the plant app says I’m wrong. I haven’t had her long…yesterday was only her second watering. I repotted her yesterday to a self watering pot but now idk idk. Ack this plant is “my MIL” (memory/honor/love/whatever) so I can’t kill her! I took her out of the water and put her in front of a fan for no other reason besides I panicked. It mentioned spraying it with baking soda and water and removing spots in photo. But I don’t trust it.😂 Sooo to Reddit I am! I’ve got the new plant nerves lol. Someone smart tell me what she’s trying to tell me Ugh

I’m guessing the plant is variegated but the app thinks variegation is damage from over/underwatering, diseases etc.

Plant apps aren’t as smart as we might hope. This is a healthy plant.

Did you add perlite to the soil mix? Self watering pots are great but need really extra well draining soil to keep roots healthy.

  3. The older leaves do naturally die. But if the plant is special, you should consider propagating it.

That looks like a type of Crown Variegation/Champion. The variegation starts in the center and as the season get warm the new growth turns green.Thats why your variegation is on the outer leaves. In cooler months the variegation will come back.😊
