This is the first African violet I’ve been able to keep successfully alive (my ex boyfriend killed the first one while I was out of town for a week because he misted it every day with the rest of my plants) it’s on its 3rd bloom since I got it and it seems relatively happy I just don’t understand why it’s been growing like this ? Is it a problem? Am I doing something wrong? Will growing in these conditions eventually harm the plant?

  1. If you look towards the middle, you’ll see two “crowns”. One of the crowns probably started as a little sucker plant, and just grew. I’d try to figure out which one is the parent plant, and then cut off the secondary one with a very sharp knife (an exacto knife works well). Then stick the secondary one plant into damp potting soil, with a good amount of perlite. It will start roots. If you can’t tell which is the parent plant, just separating them from each other, and then sticking them into damp soil with perlite. It’s ok if you lose the root ball from them, if you have to.
