My previous coworker gifed me several African violets. This is the only one that didn’t dry up and die despite weekly watering exactly as she told me. It’s been since September of last year. And it’s not changed at all. My grandma who also has African violets said to repot it. This 2” terracotta pot is all I have that’s not a huge jump. The next size I have is 3.5” nursery pot. Should I do 2” or the 3.5”?

I wouldn’t repot it. It hasn’t even started growing new leaves yet. Try sealing it in a ziplock bag for 3 or 4 weeks and see if it grows.
The leaf is still alive. Leave it alone. Put it in a bag or under a dome.
I had a number of leaves that took closer to a year to show visible signs. One leaf, a water prop, did not root or create leaves until I forgot about it. Thankful it was under a small dome so the water never evaporated.
I use upside down clear cups as well as cups to trap in humidity.
Don’t repot. Water thoroughly with lukewarm water (helps water penetrate dry soil) and allow to drip dry out the bottom (assuming there are drain holes). Then put the cup and all in a quart size ziplock to retain moisture. Keep out of direct sun and continue to wait. This should speed it along.
The soil looks dry. It maybe hydrphobic. It should be moist but not wet at all times. Keep it in a bag for humidity. Ive had one variety took 6 months to produce a baby. It grew quick after that and bloom in just 4 month. Its a large standard and bloom is 2.5″. Keep it going. Hopefully it will surprise you!👍
I’ve done several plants from leaves.
You can take it out of the soil, rinse off the end and see if it looks healthy. If so, just stick it in an out 1/2 inch of water. If brown, trim it off and stick in water.
It can take a few weeks to see even tiny roots.
Also I’ve started in soil. Not necessary to water weekly. Different houses have different humidity so you might be under or over watering.
I have a baby leaf in soil now. (Broke from main plant) I give it just the tiniest bit of water like a dribble. And even though it’s been like a month, the leaf still looks healthy. So I wait.
I’ve had several leaves not make it through. Sometimes it’s just the roll of the dice I think.
Edit to add ..my baby leaf gets a dribble every other week maybe but it’s also in a window that sometimes gets opened. So it may not need that much if it wasn’t opened.
Zero light, it seems…
