The Back Mountain Bloomers Garden Club will host the 2025 Tour of Back Mountain Gardens from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 28, rain or shine.

The 11th biennial event will include tours of six beautiful private gardens and numerous nature, gardening, and educational presentations. All tour stops are located within a five-mile radius of Dallas Borough in Luzerne County.The popular biennial garden tour began in 2003 and is celebrating its 11th anniversary. There was no tour held in 2021 due to the COVID pandemic.
The 2025 properties offer a wide variety of interesting styles, including two expansive perennial gardens; a terraced garden with multiple sitting areas and statuaries; a serene garden with gorgeous rock walls that showcase a Victorian home; a private garden with stately trees and understated planting that leads to a natural setting; and a garden where creativity reigns thanks to the use of fun and well-placed accessories.
According to master gardener Susan French of Courtdale, chair of the 2025 event, presenters include CIP Rehabilitation Inc. – exercises for gardeners; Edward’s Garden Center; Greater Wyoming Valley Audubon Society; NEPA Bonsai Society – displays, demonstrations, and sales; Penn State Master Gardeners; Creekside Gardens, and Wild Birds Unlimited.
In addition, local En Plein Aire (open air) artists will paint and draw at different gardens throughout the day. Their collective works will go on display at a date to be announced later in the year.
Tickets for the ‘Tour of Back Mountain Gardens’ are $20 when pre-ordered before June 27, and $25 when purchased at the Dallas Township Municipal Building, 105 Lt. Michael Cleary Drive, Dallas, from 3 to 6 p.m. June 27, or 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28.

Ticket order forms are also available from May 1 to June 26 at these locations: Back Mountain Memorial Library, 96 Huntsville Road, Dallas; Edward’s Garden Center, 525 River Street, Forty Fort; and Wild Birds Unlimited, Dallas Shopping Center, Dallas. Proceeds from the event will benefit Back Mountain Bloomers Garden Club community service projects.
