This violet was left behind by the previous owner of my house. It used to have… more leaves. I trimmed off the outer dead ones, but now it looks like the new growth is shriveling up, too. I repotted it into African violet soil recently, but just used the same pot (weird bottom-watering second outer pot situation?). Any hope?

I think it mostly just needs more water. That soil looks pretty dry. Are you sure the water is seeping into the inner pot?
Not quite dead but very close. Carefully move to a much smaller pot, something like a little plastic fruit cup or something. Water it slightly, and tent it, put a clear plastic bag around it, sealed shut with a rubber band or ziplocked closed or something. This will make a little micro climate for it, where humidity is high.
Leave it like that at least 2 weeks, checking every few days to remove any mold or mildew growing.
Add a tiny amount of water of needed while tented.
It may recover, it may not, it’s small and weak at the moment.
I’d say it could be saved but how much you willing to do for it! It could be a fun project!
