New here and came to save this violet!
My mom bought this African violet. I don’t know anything about them as I’ve never had one but I know this one doesn’t look good. Can you help me with some tips on helping this poor thing?

Hi, I’m not a pro as I’ve only recently been keeping african violets, but what I do know is it’s going to need a pot with drainage they don’t like to stay wet. Also let it self water from the bottom in some water, avoid spraying fertilizer and water on the leaves as it can cause them to wither and die.
It seems you recently repotted it. I think you buried it more than you should. Also the substrate seems very dry. I think it’s dehydrated.
Also I would think a smaller pot should work better.
Try to use perlite + coconut fiber.
Hope you can save it!!
Remember, violets like bright light but don’t like heat! Be careful with that
Just water it. Gently and consistently
Is that a “pot inside a pot” kind of African Violet pot? I understand those are supposed to be good for AV’s. But the dirt really does look kind of dry.
IF that is actually a “pot inside a pot” kind of pot, make sure there is water in the bottom pot….. it will soak through the inner pot to keep the dirt moist without being wet for the plant. In those kind of pots you never really water the inner pot. Just keep water in the outer pot.
Under watered.
It’s telling you she’s dehydrated.
African Violets need watering from the bottom of the pot but they don’t like their feet wet which means… put the pot in a bowl, fill THE BOWL with water and let the plant take what it wants.
You will literally see it stand up when it gets what it needs.
I let mine soak in the bowl of water over night, take it out of the bowl and let it drain.
AVs have thin roots that get easily damaged during repotting, so it’s very common to get limp leaves afterwards. You look like you buried it a little too deep, the soil should be below the oldest leaf base. We typically put them in bags after repotting for a week or two to help them recover.
