Hi FLF Community,

What might be causing these brown spots on my Fiddle Leaf Fig plant? It sits facing a west window and I water it once in 2 weeks.

Is this overwatered? Should I try to repot and inspect for root rot?

Thank you for your help and advice in saving this lovely plant.

I had a similar issue with mine, although it wasn’t browning along the veins – rather in all green areas. Big brown spots appeared. It was from over watering.

If you don’t feel like you’re overwatering, it can also be inconsistent watering. They like predictability on when their next drink is coming!

Less water, too much water,bacteria,germ…..etc.,all these can cause your case!
So l’ve an idea, remove all leaves..just keep a stump at 2-3 ft tall..let it regrow, don’t worry your plant won’t die..May is coming..that’s a right time to do that..so do it asap!

First, put a saucer beneath the pot instead of this green decorative pot, because you can easier to pour away excess water after watering(water it once every 10-14days, must thoroughly every time),place the pot more closer to window,Flf is tropical plant,it needs sunlight so much…..

………put the pot on that table, that’s better!

I bought mine from fb marketplace and she came with the bottom leaves doing this. Not along the veins but the edges. My question is…do I trim off the brown? Or leave it alone? Ack someone answer bc I stare at them and ask them what to do eeeveryday.

Light, under/over watering, too cold, etc. So look and feel the soil… too wet, then back off on the watering. Too dry then next time you water, give more water. My estimate is over watering. Good Luck!

Does this container have a drainage hole? They are tropical plants and need a full deep watering 2-3x a month

Your soil may not be draining fast enough.

Same. I stuck mine outside and may cut it down
