Hi all. I chopped my fig about six weeks ago. It produced a new branch pretty quickly, but there is no sign of a second, which kind of defeats the purpose of chopping.
I read that it might be because there isn't enough light, so I moved it to a sunnier window a couple weeks ago. The new bud has popped out four baby leaves but still no new buds.
Is there still a chance it will pop out another branch at this point? Or should I try notching it (have not had success with this before)

Helpful to always show the full plant. In order to put out several branches, you need to cut it back a fair bit. Overall the plant needs to have a lot of vigor relative to its size after you cut it. Think of it as the plant playing catch up. If it doesn’t need to put out multiple branches to catch up to where it was in leaf mass in say 5-6 months, then it’ll likely only put out the one.
