New plant mom here, and I saw this guy in the garden center at Walmart and decided to try to bring it back to health. I’ve only had him a couple of days. Just yesterday I noticed white spores on the bottom of the plant, so today I dusted them off, and poured out all the water from the reservoir at the bottom of this self watering planter. Based on what I’ve read I should probably take it out of this pot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You’re going to need to pull it and check the roots. Those leaves are goners, but if the roots are still alive, it might make it. I’d chop it, but you’ll need someone more experienced to tell you where since you’ll want to determine the location of the nodes. I’d repot it with new soil and use a regular growers pot. I actually always remove decorative planters and use a larger drip tray so I can see any water that collects in the saucer. While some plants have different watering needs, I never leave water in the saucer for more than an hour before dumping it.

You’re going to need to move the bed and let the plant sit next to the window, it’s way too far from it.
