Hi, first post here—looking for some advice.
My house sits at the bottom of a small hill, and I have a few low spots in my yard. During medium to heavy rain, I get some pooling in my backyard. My main concern is the pooling that has started near the foundation.
I’ve attached photos, though they don’t show my entire property. The pooling starts in a low spot near a downspout. From there, the water travels along my foundation, behind my A/C unit, and collects around my egress window well.
Would a French drain be a good solution? I was thinking of directing it toward my front yard, near a storm drain. I also considered a dry well, but I’m concerned it might be too close to my foundation.
Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any advice!

You’ve already got half a pool, may as well go full send and add a hot tub.
Not an expert so you should consult one first and foremost. Check your grade and make sure it’s going away from your house and it looks like you have soil compaction which makes the problem worse. You are right to be worried about water near your foundation. Bear in mind there are different types of French drains that you can discuss with an engineer.
Not a French drain, you need to move your downspout and add some soil to slope away from the foundation.
