A quick shout out to Daphne. In my opinion the best smelling plant out there. It’s sweet and heady and marvellous; I find myself deliberately walking past my house just to get a few deep lungfuls. Spring is round the corner comrade gardeners. I’m getting excited.

Bonus pic of my guerrilla-planted croci on the verge – once their neighbour Daffodils are up I’ll provide more pics 🙂

If anyone has any other great smelling shrubs they’d recommend, I welcome advice as a few of my azaleas haven’t made it through winter this year.

First signs of Spring. We’re so close now, everyone! Just a few more weeks- hold in there!

I know it’s a classic but you can’t beat roses for me

Our winter flowering honeysuckle smells absolutely divine at this time of year 🥰 And the bees and bumblebees are going crazy over it too 🐝

Sarcococca confusa, sweet box. Which does well in shade.

Edgeworthia chrysantha also has quite a strong perfume. I don’t have any, but right now they are all over the nurseries and whenever I am somewhat near, I am like what is that smell, I need that plant. I haven’t got a good space for it though.

Agreed on the Daphne! Now if only I could keep one alive 🥴
