My guess is some species of Sonchus, but I think we live in very different places so looking forward to someone with the right answer.

Without knowing generally where you live, it looks like a dandelion (or part of the taraxacum species). See if you can catch it when the flowers bloom and do a repost.

Common sowthistle i used Google search on pic as i don’t know the English name
It’s 100% a plant. A “weed” just is a plant growing where someone doesn’t want it to be.

Spiny Sowthistle!

Sonchus Spp. Some people here are calling them ‘sow thistles’, they arent that spikey. They are quite edible, if a little tough. Cooked is usually better than raw, I actually have them the old Italian way, which is you add them to the pasta water in the last 5 mins then put the sauce on top of them and the pasta, but cooking and serving methods vary. Younger leaves are better, young flowers are also edible, but once they get seedy, they are too tough. Likewise avoid the old stems, too stringy and woody.
One of the weeds I eat moderately regularly, as they are pretty common and easy to harvest.
