Your skin cells completely replace themselves over a month or so. Leaves do the same but the turnover rate is highly variable.

I think every leaf that was on this T. xanadu when I first got it (Feb. 2018) has now passed on. I kept every one so you can see that leaf turnover is part of plant growth – again, it won’t look the same for every plant and even for the same plant, different environmental conditions will yield different growth.
