So this beast is around 10’ tall. It hit the ceiling in my apartment and started to curve so I moved it into our breezeway. It’s been a few weeks and ‘seems’ to be doing okay. That is a western facing window and the tree is coming from a south facing window. In the third picture you can see the leaves nearest the window are discoloring. So my paranoia is setting in. I’ve had this fiddle since it was about 3 feet high and I want to keep it going for as long as possible. So my question is should I prune a couple feet off the top and stick it back in my apartment where it was happiest or let it settle in the breezeway for a little while longer?

I’m not sure what’s going on with the dark leaves. I think it’s sunburn but could be pests. Check closely for thrips and spider mites. This could be heavy spider mite damage but I’m not certain. Prune those off and clean between cuts. Wipe down all your leaves and then treat with neem oil. As far as pruning you can prune 3 leaves at a time per branch for now (winter). In spring you can prune up to 1/3 of the overall height of the tree! Fertilize and add superthrive to help with recovery. You can also look up air layering to have a whole new tree. Also notch the lower nodes to Try to encourage branching and fullness 🌳💫
