Here’s something confusing:

“Shade” in gardening means “less than 3 hours of direct sun”
–
My solarium is blocked by another building so the sun is only shining through like this for about an hour, not to mention the ceiling that blocks the rest if the sky.
–
So even though you’d casually describe this as sunny, it’s technically less light than the gardening category “Shade”.
–
That’s why my Alocasia are sitting right up in front of those windows – they do well in “Shade” – so one hour of sun isn’t even close to the upper part of the category (“less than 3 hours of direct sun”)
