We have tried to have flowers all winter and this is my favourite. It only took 10 years to flower, and I once got told by a rather knowitall chair of a club visiting, that I really should water it in the summer. In fact it dies back from late Spring and the leaves dry up..
It is the Clematis Nepaulensis and only flowers when it gets cold enough.
