#Tuesday’s #Tree of the #day : #Platanus orientalis : the oriental plane tree. As you can see here, one of the defining features is its wide & sprawling habit – gangly & rambunctuous. Very long- lived; leaves deeply lobed with toothed margins & characteristically flaking #camouflage-like bark. This attribute makes it particularly suitable for #urban environments where the #bark absorbs the pollution before shedding itself.
