I started composting earlier this year, probably in March. Started with bokashi and then bought my first outdoor compost bin from Lidl.
I finished the bokashi, sometimes I added food scraps directly into the outdoor compost bin.
Pretty much added anything and everything, including paper/cardboards, my neighbours' grass clippings.
A few things I learnt from this process is:
1. Given enough time, anything thrown in the compost bin will decompose
2. I don't need to monitor the compost temperature – for hot composting
3. Need to kill rat or protect the content of the compost bin from rat
4. Bokashi compost needs to be finished in an outdoor compost bin or directly in the soil
The sieved compost is teeming with worms 🥰🥰🥰🥰

LOL where were you buying that amount of compost for €200 ?
I appreciate the reuse of garden and kitchen waste and being self sufficient, but that amount of compost doesn’t cost 200 euros!
Compost soil in bags is extortionate 😂
How did you kill the rats? They’re avoiding my traps and I’m getting pissed off about it
Healthy looking compost. I love getting ‘free’ compost
The stuff in my bin better have turned into gold by now. Been layering as recommended and having a sneaky piss in a jug in the shed occasionally and pouring that in.
