It’s time for the October garden tour of my front deck where I’m growing veggies, fruit, and flowers all in containers. Apologies for the sound of my voice while talking to the birds, it is the same as my cat voice

  1. I’m looking an annual that’s dark orange color and doesn’t get over 2 ft tall, do you have a go to variety? Marigolds? Zinnia? Something else? It still amazes me that you have all of your plants in pots

  2. I think that was a female cardinal in case you were wondering. The males are bright red! So cute!!!! Love the garden!!

  3. Have you planted any for making teas? I never knew one could make marigold tea….probably alot of flowers for teas🤫

  4. It looks like a nightshade, but to be sure we need to see the flowers. Some like it, I personally don't love it, but the flowers are nice, I guess.
Every time you talk about giving the rasperry away my heart bleeds! 😆 I am just starting to see if I can grow a plant from a runner taken from my parents' garden… but I have a much smaller space than yours, so I don't really know where to put it. But I love berries, so…
The cardinal is beautiful! We don't have it here in Italy, so really, I think it was very nice to see one in your video!
Looking forward to your back deck tour!

  5. I think I would save zinnia seeds with powdery mildew but I've never researched it before. In Georgia climate it seems inevitable

  6. Hey B a friendly reminder Your YT channel is a buisness all your new dresses and give aways ,pots are tax deductions.
I love your channel, stay Classy! Aloha from Hawaii

  7. Idea for the rose bushes! Keep them in pots, but up on pot stands and in behind other pots/planters. Maybe in the corners?
They can still get lots of sun and space to go upward, but less likely to attack your legs haha 😂

  8. lovely 💕. i think the red dahlia – cool looking – may be what they call a fimbriated cactus. didn't know birds ate tomatoes ho cute was that

  9. If you’re looking for another climbing white flower I highly recommend moonflower. Huge, beautiful white flowers that open at night. Also, arctic raspberry might be a good option. It’s a raspberry groundcover, super hardy (I think zone 2) so could be planted in your larger containers and left to overwinter.

  10. For most of my life, living in Denver, it seemed like my only landscaping chore after mid-September was raking leaves. Denver is zone 5 but it used to be zone 6. It's nice to still have flowers this late, but some mornings the watering and pruning feel like they're reaching a point of diminishing returns.

  11. Enjoyed this video very much, thank you. I think 3 separate tours would be best so you can take your time on each deck. It is great to see your herbs, vegetables, and flowers, all in planters. I also enjoy grow bags. I was crazy one day and bought a 50 gallon grow bag!! So much soil, but I love it and my flowers love it too. Evelyn

  12. I love seeing your container garden. It looks so well thought out with a beautiful back drop. I personally struggle with how to place my pots. I have 6 raised beds in my main garden space, with pots, large & small inter dispersed around. I also have a step herb garden & a couple hanging baskets. My main attraction is my tandem bike turned planter. Everything looks mishmash to me. I never know how to make it more aesthetically pleasing. 🤷‍♀️

  13. I agree with other comments that three separate videos would be good so you can take your time in each area! I have a Chicago hardy fig that I just got and I’m so scared I’m going to kill it! 😬 Planning to keep it in my greenhouse for winter, and hoping that’s enough protection. We don’t have a garage. Love your videos and pigeon friends!! 💜 Justine, Pennsylvania Zone 7a 🌱
