Master designer tip: Visual presentation by @susancohan (follow her)

I often work with residential clients whose properties have mature trees and shrubs. My first intent is always to keep them and make them work within the context of the new design. To illustrate the relationship between established and new plantings I have started to graphically separate them on a single plan rather than showing the client multiple overlays. The new are rich and vibrant since that is the future of the landscape. The established plantings are shown as transparencies to communicate that they will stay and still be important players in the new scheme.
