Anyone ever deal with scale forming on top of the water? New to hydroponics and testing small scale stuff for the kitchen. Trying to ID if this is from the tap (my water is extremely hard) or if it’s from the minerals from the grow solution. Using the Master Blend 3 part. The two buckets I used tap and left it out for 48 hours before adding nutrients and the rest of the smaller scale stuff I’ve been using rain water with no scale on the water at all

That looks more biological than mineral at first glance, typically minerals crash out of solution and sink not float. Floating suggests yeast or algae to me.
