Landlord had the arborists over and they kind of went overkill.

They got rid of our cedar tree out the back and the two Iilly pillies out front.

They left quite a mess of confusion, not sure what to make of what’s left. Thinking of propagating lemon myrtles.

I have no experience with gardening or landscaping… WWYD?

It’s probably clear but no one tended to the garden in the first place. My parents always assured me to leave it alone because we’re renting – but I feel like it’s irresponsible and a disservice to the house + ourselves to just neglect it, especially after the arborists got rid of our beloved trees that I had a relationship to.

  2. In every rental place I ever lived in, I always left a legacy garden or gardens. My rental places were the places I called home and I treated them accordingly.

I doubt very much they were arborists. They annihilated the garden. If they were arborists, they need to hand in their cards. Seeing a landscape left like this makes me want to cry.

Please put something in there. Even if it’s in pots that you can take with you. Anything. That’s a tragedy there.

I’m hoping that others can make some good and inexpensive suggestions for you.
