    I don’t know anything Diffenbachia specific. But I’ve read that roots should be at least 3 inches long and that the bigger roots are putting out secondary roots. This may not work for all plants, but I’ve been guilty of potting up too soon and have discovered better success if I wait till the roots are nice and robust.

    Also, because I’m neurotic, I like to have an ample root system to anchor the plant in the soil. That may be illogical to some, but works for me. 😊

    It’s a bit soon. The roots will need to be large enough to support a fairly tall cutting to keep it upright, not only for water absorption.
