  2. Zone 6b. South Lake Tahoe.
    Last frost date June 15th.
First frost date: anytime after June 15th. 😂

  3. Thanks so much for the great August planting tips, we're definitely going to try most of those! I'm so glad King Tuck got his carrot!❤❤❤❤

  4. So awesome to hear you mention mizuna… I have my aerogarden full up on mizuna right now and have 2 transplants from it already outside hardening. I'm in north jerz and it's been record-breaking hot where I am this year, thankfully we've been getting some rain finally. For those that don't know, good mizuna is the perfect green to go with your prized tomatoes on a BLT. After that it's just raising your own bacon and chickens for mayo… then growing some wheat for the bread flour, then you're a self-sustaining BLT farm!

  5. Oh it's over 35 here still, my garden has struggled fir 2 months and we are still hot for 3 more weeks, I'm so done trying to keep things alive, only got maybe a 1/3 if peas, but also shit soli, so I huesd things are doing ok for that, slow ho though
    Can't wait for cool weather

  6. This fall I’m growing carrots, beets, radishes, broccoli, arugula, bok choy and more!! This is my first year doing a fall garden 😊

  7. I'm planning on starting some lettuce soon if I can stay ahead of the bugs. Haven't decided whether to transplant it from indoors or direct sow it. May also plant carrots but I have had a hard time getting those to any decent size. It took me 6 months to get the first batch of just a few to even 2-3 inches long and 3/4" in circumference. I may need to try different varieties.

  8. HI from PA, Love your videos thanks for sharing 🙂 But I must say your thumbnail would look more welcoming if you show your nice smile 🙂

  9. Can you do more on when the plants are ready to harvest? I pulled out a carrot I thought looked ready, tall stem and turning yellow, but it was as thin as a pencil.
Also spacing…I have yellow squash & zucchini which over-shaded tomatoes & stunting growth

  10. I really dislike the “you’d be foolish not to plant.” Well, it would be IF I LIVED IN YOUR AREA. to tell people that don’t have the growing time that they’re foolish if they don’t do things like you do is a great way to loose viewers.

  11. ❤❤❤❤ for Tuck. He's too adorable. Great video. Thank you for all the info. I was looking for some stuff to add for my fall garden

  12. Love learning from you, James. Seems you're perfectly on target for my zone 7a, Washington state. I use your board method for carrots, great germination this past week. Lettuce is up, used same principle but with VERY thin layer of dry grass clipping on north exterior or green house. Up today–winning! So many good things happening in the garden, this time of year. Looking forward to a second round starting NOW! Thanks to you and The Boss. ❤❤❤❤

  13. Yeah, your August is my September. In 9b Sacramento area, it's 100+ through August and early September. I will probably start some beets, carrots, turnips sometime at the end of the month or first week of September; but lettuce I will need to wait until mid-September.
