  1. I'm in Bama. My Grandma lived on Cumberland Plateau,in Derossett. Her and my step Grandpa, ran A general store with "See ROCK CITY"on roof.I would give almost anything to be back on their breezy front porch! I miss them all so bad.

  2. Your sweet Mom – there is no telling what she was looking up at with that expression. I want to find some anise hyssop seeds! Great video. My heritage goose peas are coming in. I was late planting everything in my 4 raised beds in my fenced backyard…having said that, the raccoons have discovered my 4 beds and have gone through every cantaloupe and baby watermelons. Don't know what to do about the stinkers!

  3. Bon jour mon petite. Thanks for the indoor view of "warm & fuzzy" on the homestead. Love the wreath. What is that? So fun. As all ways, my best juju to you. The heat is nation wide. Fire season is in full swing. Stay fresh & active attractive.😉 There's always a price to pay, by the consumer!! It's always a joy to see & listen to you. Beijos, mon ami.🇬🇷🇺🇲💜☮️☯️⚖️💪🌎

  4. Looks like the All You Can Eat Free Buffet For Local Wildlife has many locations. And to think I used to consider deer and squirrels and raccoons to be cute and interesting.

  5. I liked living in East Tennessee on the Cumberland Plateau but hated the winter weather cold. Did not mind the heat or humidity. Also disliked the severe storms. Otherwise fine.

  6. Love the sit-down talk, Kaye. The bug pressure this year has been off the charts! Not tot mention the deer! They are so bold as to just look at me like "What? Why are you waving and yelling like a crazy lady? I'm just enjoying the cantaloupe and purple hull peas you planted for us!" Ugggggh. 😞

When our parents leave it's like a void. Even though it is a natural process it never feels good. I am always amazed by the Amish and their attitude towards departures; They are firmly convinced everything is in God's time.
My mother and I do not speak but it will hurt so bad when she leaves this Earth. I can barely talk about it without tears welling up. I am so glad that you get to be with your mother during this time, Kaye. It is a beautiful thing.

  7. Canned corn isn’t as good as frozen whole. However if you cook with broth and a little salt and butter it’s good. A way to preserve the harvest if you don’t have room in the freezer.

  8. I dug up my potatoes today and oh my goodness!!! I must of have 10 pounds of potatoes!! Their beautiful! Big ones too! It was so fun to dig them up….will do every year. So easy too, just toss in the ground and water! Potatoes…..love it!

  9. I have a recipe for natural mosquito repellent that I will post in the community section if you like. I make it for my family and it has been perfect for the great grands. I know you're discouraged about the gardens and critters and all but it all looks wonderful to me. I try every year but I'm not gifted in gardening like you. I keep you in my prayers and hope you're able to get more help, also praying for your Mom as well. Blessings!

  10. Sweet baby….you’re mom is beautiful. So sweet faced….She seems comfortable, and at peace in that photo. I pray she continues to be at peace…❤✝️
