Welcome Gardeners! While I’m off to Cultivate Jason is taking over the channel (at least for today 😉!) Come join Jason for a July back garden tour. We have been having a crazy heat wave with triple digits for days on end. Spoiler alert: there were some casualties! 😆 Enjoy!

Jason, You are a walking encyclopedia of plant identification, tricks of the trade, etc. Great job!!
I appreciate the different perspective that Jason brings. I am planted out, cant add any more plants for awhile and too hot to plant. But would love info on creative shading ideas.
Good job, Jason!
You are giving a great tour!!!!!
You've come a long way with your knowledge of plants Jason! You've gone from "here is a cute little purple plant," or "here is a silver plant," to not just the type of plant, but its individual name, and why it is doing, or not doing well. I think we are seeing "survival of the fittest" in our gardens during this heat wave. Thank you for showing us the real deal. Well done!
Awesome job Jason!!
I wonder if some of those shade plants that just seem to die…is it possible some of the water gets hot from sun on the tubing just cooks some of the plants accidentally? I just notice the hot water that comes from my hose that sits in the sun when I first water in the mornings, and I worry about accidentally scalding my own plants!
Good for you, Jason-taking such initiative!! You did an amazing job, you would never know you don’t do this much. You’re a natural & so great getting a different perspective. Cheers from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 zone 5b. You know a lot more about the plants than you give yourself credit for 👏applaud yourself. Good job 👍
🌳Fantastic 🌳
Why not use your hot tub without heating it up, like a chill tub?
Hi Jason, you nailed it😀. You guys make a great team. Also, your demeanor is mellow and you have good energy (vibes) haha.
Harbor freight store is where I get my shade cloths in southern California
Love seeing Jason! Also- rattling off those plant names like a champ!!
Well done Jason!
Go Jason!!!!! Great job. 👍
HimJason, maybe you need some clamps on the irrigation that keeps coming apart.
Jason, I’m so inspired by your tour video!! I am super new to this gardening thing and love seeing someone that relates with still learning it all!! Janey is so lucky to have you! Wish my husband would partner with me the same way you’ve done with Janey! It’s a dream!! (I’m sure there’s plenty that’s not so pretty behind the scenes that we don’t see, but appreciate what you add to this channel, and your sense of vision!)
You did GREAT Jason! You look like you are a bit more comfortable behind the camera. Looking forward to seeing you do another video. Hope Janey had a great time in Ohio and looking forward to hearing about Cultivate.
Maybe its the lighting but i thought i saw a bunch of thick webs on the brunnera. Maybe mites? They do love hot dry weather and sad plants lol
Great job Jason, thank you! I’m sorry to say, but I really think all the black tubing is going to have to be buried ( Garden Answer does this as well). It’ll be a big job, but will protect the lines from the sun as well as hiding them. Your idea regarding bordering the vego beds is a great one. I really appreciated your perspective and also showing how the garden is performing in the extremes you all are experiencing. Nice to see you filling in for Janey, do a cold plunge in the “ hot” tub! 🇨🇦💦🇨🇦
Is Janey ok?? She didn't post 2 days worth of videos. ❤ I know she's going to Cultivate but I thought that was over the weekend. Thanks! ❤ 😊 Great tour, Jason!!!
Jason, you've come a long way. Fantastic video. You're really into it! Thank you for the tour.
It’s cool to get a different point of view. Great job Jason
🌱the bottom of a pot on a solid surface can makes a seal and hold water. Pot feet, in a pinch a couple rocks pieces of wood to elevate the bottom and allow air circulation.
🌱on your irrigation system. Garden Answer’s Laura and Aaron use hose clamps to prevent them coming undone. Hope this helps
Random supertunia death….. We should ask Sadie to write another story for this topic 🙂 🙂 🙂
Great Job Jason!!!
I vote for a bouquet making contest!!
I can tell Jason is getting more confident on cámara! Love see him taking over!
Jason,
Great job!
Jason, check if you are getting burning reflection off your windows there in the shade garden. I have hostas that get burnt like this and I found that my neighbors window was the culprit. The shade cloth will help👍
What a treat, Jason you did a wonderful job. Truly enjoyed your perspective on the garden.
Great video!
Great job , Jason! You are amazing!
Well done Jason!🎉🎉🎉 Enjoyed your perspective!
Hey Janey,
Can you let me know where you purchase the Stump & Vine Killer ?
Amazon doesn’t deliver to my address in Contra Costa County.
Thank you!
Jason, it’s okay if you don’t learn flower arranging. Keeping watering systems fully online is a valuable skill. My husband and I are always battling leaks with couplers and emitters coming off or loose. It feels like a constant struggle in summer.
Great job! You knew most of the plant names, too.
Ya, did get Jason, Thanks for filling us in and keeping the realistic gardening haps in. Everything is thriving even through our Cali heat wave. Those shade sails will be a cool addition.
