
I have this piece of snake plant that ive had in water for a couple weeks, found it on the ground. I see today that theres this clear spot on it, and i took it out to snip it off and let it callus again, but then i saw theres little nubs of roots starting finally…what should i do?

leave it in water until the roots are a bit longer, then pop it in soil. Mine did the same thing – started rotting along the edge a little, with the roots coming right through the rotting part.

Granted, I started with a MUCH larger cutting, and the little bit of rot I got was way smaller in proportion to yours, I think you’ll be good leaving it in the water. Keep an eye on it. If that rot starts to spread, I’d take it out, trim it, try keeping the roots wrapped in a moist paper towel until the trim calluses. If you don’t notice at first, take a look just to the right of the cutting and you can see the first rosette pushing up. 😊 Quite literal living proof of the durability of snake plants.
