Every year we look forward to harvesting this pear tree, it is one of the highest quality fruit we grow (Summer Crisp ). Typically our local murder of crows beats us to it . They wait till the fruit is at its best and strip the tree in one day. We are determined to beat them at their game. Netting was not easy but hopefully it will work. I’ll keep you posted.

This will sound very inhumane, but if you can find a dead crow, or manage to get one yourself by some means, hang the corpse in a noticeable area where you don’t want crows.

This has been scientifically proven to keep crows away. Seeing their own dead is maximum psychological warfare against them.

Is that the green plastic stuff? If it is, I put that around my cherries last month, and it is already breaking down and falling apart. I’m hoping it lasts long enough for this year, but I definitely have to find something better for next year.

You’re just giving them puzzles to figure out. Crow school 101, now with free pears.
