I'm with you on the hat. I get so hot and I don't like the restricted view it causes. I'm trying though, I just ordered a couple more to try
When will you fertilize the roses? Thank you for your videos!!
Looking fantastic!
I vote for the boxwoods by the benches! They look fabulous just sitting there in containers, like it was meant to be! Also agree with others that it's smart to wear the hat!
I live in Montana and I always wear a hat to garden so I'm so glad to see you wear one. The effect of the sun on your face over time ages the skin and the possibility of skin cancer is no joke. Beautiful rose garden and I think those trees in the parterre are perfectly placed and does make it look like a room.
How was the trip population?
So good to see you trying to wear a hat. Also good to see you clean your pruners between roses. 👍
Love everything but especially the shade stuff. How do you get them to look so good? My trees seem to hog all the water for mine!
Your roses are beautiful. I can’t grow them in Kentucky because of the Japanese beetles. You will thank yourself years later for the hat. I’m 70 and the one thing I really didn’t think about was my scalp. I have pre-cancer in my natural part in my hair that was cause from sun. Who would have thought! Hats make me so hot also but I know now what I wish I had known back then. Your gardens have been such an inspiration for me. Thanks for all your amazing videos. ♥️
The Pinōn apps absolutely amazing and you’re right. What a transformation. Does this get you excited to do the stream? There is nothing like having a water feature in a yard entering so much wildlife. You picked the perfect plants for around the pond.
Lovely tour. The pond is fabulous. Your landscaping around the Hartley is wonderful. What are the little trees you have in the beds around the greenhouse? I like the shape. I also like the upright boxwoods. Do you have to be concerned with boxwood blight?
So beautiful
Great Job Laura with your Roses 🌹 “ Love your Hat 👒
Is that the new smaller sized kneeling pad 😮? I’ve been waiting for you to get them in! Yes, hats are a pain but it will save your skin and your hair color. 😊
The boxwoods are perfection!
Do you give the rose petals to someone so they can make essential oil and rose water with them?
So freaking cool you guys are doing the best work lovely day for you 🌻🦋🌻🍄🌻☕🐊🔥💚🌄🍀🧡🐝😊
I like the placement of the boxwoods. If I may make a suggestion. I think the area behind the boxwoods looks a little messy being so close to the Hartley area. I think that area is the chicken coup but maybe plants that look tighter and not overgrown in that area. I really like the fern you planted. The hat looks cute.
As much as I don't like seeing things not thrive in Laura's garden, it gives me faith that I'm not alone when something just doesn't thrive in my garden! Thank you for showing us not only the amazing successes in your garden, but also the things that don't work out so well.
You are cute as a button in the hat! You know we are going to comment on the hat..❤
For your Shaggy white pine you just might put the drip system further away from the tree root to make the roots reach out for it. My Dad's cousin who's part Navajo would dig trenches around the tree about 4 inches away from the root system to make it reach for the water and every year would expand the trench further and close in the closer one that's what he did for his giant sequoia trees😢❤ he passed on about 20 years ago I just remember what he would tell me how he treated his trees as he walked me around his tree forest and nobody else in his neighborhood had one❤
Did you check the white pine for scale or other pest damage? Over here in the Northeast, something is taking out evergreens, which is sad to see!
How do you so easily connect your drip irrigation connectors? I have to pour hot water over the area where I’m inserting connectors to soften the tubing and use garden gloves. I use Rainbird too drip irrigation.
Ohhh Laura a 1,000 times yes to those boxwoods by the benches
❤❤Laura for your FACE and HANDS use beef tallow cream, grass fed and organic of course. At 68 I use "Hearth and Homestead LLC" whipped tallow balm, vanilla orange. A small business owner out of Va.
Light weight balm that has changed my gardeners face and hands. Amazon sells it. I hope this helps my friend.
thank you for the careful description of deadheading the roses.
Does the bio tone smell stay a long time or never leaves?
Love the boxwoods in the bump out! Tall hydrangeas would be good, or maybe a climbing rose on a trellis?
As far as hats go, my mom loves visors and I really enjoy the farmers defense hats, their straw hats, and they’re super cute with pattern linings
Fantastic job❤️
Again Laura! I can’t believe the energy you have! Love the tall boxwood placements by the benches at the Hartley garden. Adds to the formality in my opinion. I want an auger now! They are a necessity for you for sure!
Hello Laura. Have you looked into crownless hats? They are not visors. Keeps you a bit cooler. Thanks for encouraging me to get out and upkeep the garden.
Hi Laura I love the size of you hat … will you place hats in your merch store .. and was it easy to get use to wearing ? Most hats I see the brims are too wide and yours looks most comfortable 😊love your videos … I start my days with you and your family which is a great and positive start !💐🦋🙌
I’ve found wearing a visor is a good compromise between not having a hat trap the heat AND have some sun protection for my face. It’s the nerdiest thing ever…but who cares!
Glad to see the hat! I don’t know how you do it without sunglasses though. I’m pretty much blind without sunglasses when it’s sunny.🙃 I should probably wear shirts with more coverage but that would be miserable here in South Louisiana. This is my first year of gardening. Although, up to this point I’ve never had an interest, I picked it up as a hobby to possibly help/distract from the grief of losing my mom to ALS. She, as well as my grandmother were avid gardeners so I definitely feel closer to them when in the garden. I have you and this channel to thank for so much of what I’ve learned along the way! ❤
Hi Laura, I'm so happy to see you wear a hat. That will definitely protect the best accessory your beautiful face already has, your collagen. It's a treasure…. so please protect it…. your skin will thank you. I wish I had known more about sun damaging collagen in my younger days. I only heard recently from Dr. Idriss on youtube . I follow her advice now and my skin already looks better in 3 months. I'm 56. I cannot reverse the damage I've already caused. I'm a sun worshipper. lol
Laura, the TYPE of hat you wear makes all the difference. I too resisted because they made me hot. I finally settled on a straw hat that was loosely woven on top with lots of gaps where I need the air circulation, but with a tightly woven brim where I needed the shade.
Glad to see you wearing a hat, I hate them, too and it so messes up my bangs but it is best for our skin, I have spots I have to treat from being stubborn in the past. Everything is looking so lovely. Hugs to you all.
Laura don't be a bit shy to wear your hats. I have seen grown women wearing antlers, antennas, balls, and balloons tied to their ponytail at the work place! I am wearing my straw hats without any reservations. I hope your not throwing your mites away.
At the 8 minute mark I see a golden leafed tree in the upper left distant background. Is that your honey locust that is not doing well? If so does that mean it’s second chance of recovery is over?😢
I bet the "Lida Rose" is pronounced li-duh, just like the song from the Music Man (musical)
2 appearances in a row of the hat??!?! 🤯😅
Something else to think about is protecting your eyes. Glad you are wearing a hat. Garden looks beautiful. 😊
