hey guys how’s it going it is going to be a good day today I am out very very early I’m trying to talk a little bit quiet right now I do have my mic on um it’s not turned on right now but I have it on because I don’t want to talk too loud today um because it’s super early and my neighbors are not mourning people at all I never hear them outside early in the day so I try to be respectful in that manner let me let me show you guys how early it is I don’t you guys have ever seen my yard with like all shade I mean this is like cuz the sun is coming straight down this line right here is my fence so you can see how long the Shadows are stretched right now it’s early okay um but we’re going to do some containers this morning and I’m really excited about it because I’m in a long sleeve it’s nice and cool this morning Freya has her plastic pot she’s such a turd but we’re going to do the high hand Nursery containers that I just picked up the lattice ones they’re so pretty and they’re screaming at me that they would like to be filled with plants so I’m going to do one for full sun and one for shade um I just I can’t wait to get these planted up let me show you guys the good things that I have because it’s a great selection so I just picked these containers up right here from high hand Nursery they were $90 for the two of them it was buy 1 get one free and I love this lattice on here I just think it’s so magical they are I think 19 inches yeah 19 inches they were made in Vietnam but they’re so pretty I really love them and that’s not a crack I I made sure to get one that didn’t have a crack there was one that had a crack that’s just the like terra cotta on the inside but I love this lattice look to them it’s just absolutely gorgeous let me show you guys what I have for these so for one of them that’s full shade I have this cadium right here super gorgeous it’s like red and green it’s really really pretty then I have right here two etheras these are purple prints really pretty also I have a hooka right here this one looked really sad not too long ago this is the forever red hooka and this one gets 7 in tall 14 in wide it’s still not getting the most like regular water but it has bounced back and filled in quite a bit which is really really good I also have this brra is going to go inside one of these containers or in that container um I paid 14 bucks for this one and it’s a variegated brra I had never seen this before to me it looks like Ivy it’s so gorgeous I mean I love brra it’s absolutely like a stunner in the garden and I’ve always thought that I couldn’t grow it and then it turns out I can grow it and they grow pretty well here in my zone 9 in California as long as they get enough water and they get full shade so um I mean this one probably got a little tiny bit of sun when it was younger but you can see that it has been like kept in shade since it’s grown up isn’t that just the coolest thing ever I I didn’t even know variated Browner out was a thing so we’re going to do one of these kind of like on the edge of it to like Cascade down almost a little bit I mean not like Cascade down but I’m going to like plant it at an angle so it like Pops at you I just think it’s really really pretty I do have three of these I was going to do them in the landscape in like a very teeny tiny Drift But I think I just want to pop the other two randomly like so I’ve got these two right here and I think I just want to pop one of them I like this one right here is popped like up against these U that’s kind of what I would like to do with these two right here is randomly just pop them in and I think I might use one of these colus if there’s like too much room in the container if there is I’m going to use one of them if not then I won’t use one of them and I will just do a very small drift of these colus I think they’re really really gorgeous the red color is just everything it’s so stunning on these colus I mean the pairing of the red with the white leaves on the Bruna a little bit of Dart isn’t that color combo so cool and then for the full sun one I have this spiral topiary right here you actually see it’s about to start blooming this right here is the orange twist brush Cherry gets 10 ft tall 5 ft wide Hardy in zones 9 through 11 so it is only Hardy in those warmer zones so if you’re in a lower zone I’m sorry um but I saw this and I I saw it when it was in this coloration right here here and I just fell in love with it it was so gorgeous so stunning the red on the tips right there perfect Primo so this is a full sun to partial sun I’m going to plant it somewhere where it gets full Morning Sun and then it’ll get shade in the afternoon that’s kind of what it’s been getting now and it seems very very happy and then right here I’m not going to plant it but I do have another topiary this right here is the Sea of gold Juniper 3 ft tall 4T wide zones 3 through 9 so if you know you’re in a different Zone that 9 through 11 here you go use one of these 3 through n um and this one’s really pretty I also saw this one when it was in more of a yellow stage which you can see some of the yellow right there so I saw when it was more yellow and then it’s like transformed into this green it’s really really pretty so we’ll have the orange twist brush cherry and then I’m going to go in very simple and I’m just going to go in with the three of these right here I don’t know the name of these I just picked these patunas up at high hand they were six bucks a piece and I loved it I loved the yellow and I loved the little pops of purple on some of them I thought that they were really pretty so I’ve got three of these guys and I’m just going to like pop them in and around it um these will these should fill out like I said I don’t know the sizing on them they’ never had tags in them so um I’m assuming that these will fill up around it really really beautifully and I don’t want to overcrowd it so this is the plan and I’m just going to do a trio around the one plant so let’s get to planting now because these are going to look so good when they are all full okay we’re going to get to planting now we’re going to start with the shade one and I’m so excited about this one I think this one’s going to be really pretty I did grab one more plant over there this is the Bonia this is called T-Rex Bonia and it’s a um first blush t-x and I really love Bonas I’ve come to really like them these ones did get a little bit damaged in shipping which is okay it should rebound so we’re going to start with irrigation under this and I do this with all my containers I run the ation up and underneath of all of my containers that way I don’t have it going up and over the side I just don’t like the look of the irrigation at all it’s all personal preference so we’re going to start with it going underneath and up the top so this is just black tubing this is the/ qu in Black tubing uh it has no emitters in it at all and then I what I do is I go in with brown tubing that has emitters that’s also qu inch and I do a circle around all of the plants so that way it gets even continuous pressure and a ton of water then I just go in with a little piece that’s shaped like a tea right here and I put it in at the bottom and then I’m going to connect and do a circle but I’m going to do that dead last so this is just the fox Farm’s Happy Frog potting [Applause] soil it’s one of my favorites plus I can find it locally for quite cheap which is um shocking because I know a lot of you guys are paying like $30 for a bag of this I find it for like 13 [Applause] bucks I prefer to almost overfill my containers I’d rather push soil out than have to go back in with more soil I find when you go in with soil you tend to break leaves you break branches you break things so I tend to overfill dig my first hole and then I should be good to go so my air over on this side so I’m probably going to just have this be the back of this container this is going to be one that has a back to it so we’ll dig our first hole right here and I think that the cadium is going to go in the very back so I have this cadium right here this I bought in a greenhouse as more of a indoor house plant but I just couldn’t help myself I love caladiums and I wanted it outside this is going to be very hard to pot up I have um never had to pot things backwards I don’t do that very often instant impact and I can no longer see the container that’s already so pretty even a container just full of caladiums would be really pretty I forgot going with fertilizer uh so I’m going to just sprinkle it in really quickly we’re using a new fertilizer um it’s a local fertilizer and it’s very very powdery we will see how it goes they told me that it is most similar to biotone um reading the ingredients it seems so you guys know I’m all about just using what I can find locally so I’m able to find this locally it’s from a local company um called Kenny nursery and it’s actually where I pick up all of our potting soil from anyways I should probably lay these out I just knew this was going in the back but I want to make sure that I have enough room room for everything so hura here rra here Bonia here and then I’ll go in with the anas one in between these plants fora do love it so let’s start with this Huka over on this side here so when I am planting everything in this container I’m going to be planting everything at like a slight angle I want them instead of being planted up and down like this I want them to be planted kind of out a little bit so that way it faces you immediately and it makes the pl to look a little bit more full so just a little tip I hope Runner is so gorgeous now I’m just going to go in with my brown tubing and I snake it around these plants these have half gallon per hour emitters on them so I’m probably going to do four maybe five emitter we’ll see so I did four emitters in this container and it’s looped around in here so it should get our timer goes off for 15 minutes meaning that it’s going to get about 1 gallon every 15 minutes so it’ll get a so this is going to get one gallon of water in the morning and one gallon of water in night time shade loving plants probably need a little bit more water so four is perfect for this container um and it’s terracotta so it’s going to Wick away the moisture quite fast so this one is done and I’m really happy with it it looks really good I actually haven’t even seen it from the front but from the back I’m very happy and very pleased with it on to the next one now we’re going to get our drip ran same thing go up the bottom so I have a couple partial bags so we’re going to finish this one [Applause] off and then we are going to finish these ones off also this is the Fox Farms this is the o ocean Forest though so we’re just going to finish [Applause] these go in with a handful or two of fertilizer mix that in nicely this one I haven’t overfilled because I know that the container that I have not that container cuz the container that I have for the topi are is quite large so I got to dig quite the trench right here this one’s going to be so fast to pot up I think I’m just going to fill it up and not talk we’ll see how that goes I’m going have to dig a deeper hole so even if we did just a container with just this in it and maybe some like Creeping Time filling out this with just some Greenery it would be spectacular just this on its own is absolutely a stunning plant um an investment piece for sure but beautiful nonetheless I’m really really happy with this even if I just left this alone like I said grp some moss on the top of it or something ground cover maybe some creeping jenny or just like this just leaving it alone I’d be very happy with it but that’s not who I am as a person so we’re going to underplant it with some patunas and that is going to be so pretty so this is kind of going to have a back to it I’m thinking where I’m at is actually going to be the front of the container so what I’m going to do where you guys are at is actually probably going to be the back let me get up and look I was wrong it just looks good from all sides but where you guys are at is definitely going to be the front so what I’m going to do is we’re going to plant on the side like this and on the side like this and then this one is going to go on the back where it’s going to go you kind of can see the back of it so I might as well just plant it up um I think it would look a little weird with only two of them on the side it would just like look like weird arms so we’re going to plant all three of them up and my plan is to kind of like keep them growing underneath this but not too much because I don’t want this foler growth right here to like kill off the light to this right here cuz I want this to continue to grow this is more important than these are in the long run but the way that these are going to fill out and Mound and spill over is going to be absolutely stunning so it’s worth it I just want to keep them in check just right here in this front area so let’s get these planted [Applause] and then I’m probably going to go in with the same number of drip irrigations 1 2 3 4 this looks pretty good I’m very happy with it very pleased let me cut this black tubing and then this is going to go get over in its forever home and I think it’ll be very happy where it’s going to go it’s going to go in a full sun area this is just so gorgeous I’m very very pleased with it I just I can’t wait to see it grow up here’s the mess and let’s go over here and show you guys what it looks like isn’t that amazing so what I did was I moved some things so we have the spiral right here and I put the little fees that I picked up also on my way to Monrovia so I’ve got the cutest little feet that match the terracotta pot perfectly got three of them in there it’s so cute and I’ve got the patunas the yellow so you can see they all Trail down this way this is probably going to be the most shaded one and then this one and then I’ve got one on this back side right here so you’ll be able to see it from all angles which is why I really did need to pot it up so you could see it from all angles because while you won’t see it much you will see it so it did need to happen so I’m really happy with that and then I do have morning glories that are growing up this string right here I’ve got my first flower down there which is so exciting so that looks amazing really love that and then if we come over here this is where I had the other boxwood which I just kind of like scooted to the side so now it’s like a trio of containers which is not the trio that I want at all um so we’ll see what I end up doing with that boxwood but that looks so good and adds a amazing amount of color in here brightens the place up I really love it I am obsessed with that brown era right there I think it’s so gorgeous this doesn’t have the feet for the pot right here because I don’t have anymore so I want to see about ordering the same ones so they both match like perfectly the same exact feet I don’t even know who makes them I’m going to have to figure that out though but I really love I’m going to use my shadow to point I really love the Brun right there okay but you can still see my hand over in the corner okay I really love the Brun right there I really love the Broner right there I think it’s so pretty the Bonia will fill this entire area in the HRA will be a little more pop of red there it’s it’s amazing I’m really really happy with it these Leaves play off of each other so nicely they’re the exact same shape totally different colors and then they’re kind of like inverted like this is green on the outside this is green on the inside this is so much better than I imagined I didn’t even think it was going to look like this so I am pleasantly surprised with how this turned out very very happy with it um I’m going to call it a success of a day it was I got out early I’m still in a long sleeve I’m not even sweating which is so cool I’m not a morning person so we’re going to have to become a morning person very quickly because uh while it’s cool today we will be 112 non-stop we are in Los Molinos California and we’re usually hotter than like 30 minutes down which is where my grandparents are we’re usually a couple degrees warmer than they are and we’re also normally a couple degrees cooler than they are in the winter time so they’ll be like 108 and we’ll be you know 111 112ยฐ so it’s rough and then Jamie’s parents they’re up and reading and they’ll be even hotter than us they’ll be like 115 when we’re like 110 sooo it’s it gets rough the further north you go which is kind of crazy and then it immediately cools down once you get to a certain point it’s just it’s California it’s weird it’s crazy weather here but that was a ramble off of this somehow I hope you guys enjoyed the video I’m going to just chill by my new containers cuz I’m really loving them and I will see you all in the next video bye guys [Music]
