I love Tori's attitude ❤
I, too, never wear gloves! I have them in bulk with good intentions, but I always just hunker into my homesteading tasks (weed pulling everywhere I go) and grabbing gloves is an after thought. Sometimes I even have them in my back pocket, but I'm hand deep in the soil before I remember. What is your go to hand care & under nail cleaning favorites? Nail brushes just dont do it for me. Hose sprayer on jet is my end of day deep clean and Dr. Bronners Peppermint Soap use inside. Spring Planting & garden maintenance has my hands looks rough & tough. Tips & tricks to save garden hands!! Please!
I grew potatoes once many, many years ago, and they were the best I've ever eaten. I haven't had a real garden since then, maybe some pots that produce a few things, but nothing like that garden. Enjoy your bounty, and rest well to feel better soon. Blessings to you, as well.
Love new potatoes cooked in a white gravy or béchamel.
I make onion powder with the tops all the time I use them in omelets and biscuits and gravy. My husband likes to make dip with them. I dehydrated 7 quarts earlier I have lots of onion tops, but not good at getting cooking size onions and I can generally get onion tops all year.
Love the way Bear runs along side your lil truck. ❤
I think im more concerned that there will be an unexpected snake in that brush.
Jess we have started winter but I still have tomatoes peppers growing. Every morning I am going out check on them and really thinking of you saying thank you for encouraging me to grow anything. Sweet potato still growing the leaves are green the pumpkins still bringing flowers so I am just waiting see what comes out of the garden. Just planted some choko the very first time. Winter is coming but the garden still blooming.
I love potato time! As you’re digging up your taters I am roasting the ones I dug up two weeks ago for dinner. 🥔😁
I had to go and harvest a few potatoes for dinner while listening to this. Thank you. 💚
I have had Greek potatoes twice so far with my little potato haul. So good!
I think your people need videos on potato super cooking from The Farmers Table
Omg. How cute is the intro with Tori!! ❤
Really enjoy your chats, about, gardening & life! They go hand& hand, always something to learn, but my big gardening days are over for me,lately, diagnosed with colon cancer three years ago, have had surgeries, but it has spread,so I'm on full chemo program. But I have alot of Faith in Jesus, and he has given me strength to container garden, and I still get that peace& contentment, that comes with the small container garden ! Your passion for gardening is a blessing & I thank you for sharing it with us! It keeps me going.
Thanks!
What is the difference between an onion & a shallot?
Digging for treasure is what me and granddaughters call it. And its our favorite too
I made your chilli crunch, for the first time ever, its amazing, I eat it on so many things, with greek yohgurt on the side.DELISH ❤
This is the second time in a week that I have heard about Chili Crisp which I had never heard of before…Becky from Acre Homestead used it in one of her cooking sessions last week. She had purchased the jar from TraderJoes…learn something new every day!
Sweetheart, you are such an inspiration!
I read The God of the Garden in January (it was a Christmas gift) and it was beautiful! We are big Wingfeather fans and the books just take me away, so I was not surprised by how much I loved this. Next is Adorning the Dark, but I have a few books to finish before that.
I absolutely flippin LOVE digging potatoes- and cooking them! The taste is incredible and the digging is like hidden treasure!
I’m right there with you girl… except ah, 6 months apart 😂 🇦🇺
In 2020 we started a lemon plant from a few seeds we got from a store lemon, just to see what could be.
After research, we learned it could be 3-5 years before any fruit. It officially been 4 years and no fruit but i haven't given up!
*****side note….. we're growing it on a large container, we dont have space in our yard to transfer it.
Yes fresh dug potatoes…nothing like them🎉🎉 my favourite vegetable to harvest
Feel better quickly! You need to enjoy your favorite harvest! It’s only fair! You have so much joy in what you do! Of course you should feel good and be able to completely enjoy everything you do! God Bless! ❤❤❤
we don't harvest our potatoes until Labor day weekend thats the way my dad did it so I too have kept the same practice. I live in Western NC and most folks are just now able to scrounge for a few to have a mess of new potatoes.
My cows keep breaking onto my potato garden and eating down the leaves. But they have not killed the plants and they still growing. So going to be interesting to see if any grew. They did pull 1 completely up and it had about 5 or 6 potoatos attached.
Hi Jess! Its funny ypu say, "i feel like a Hobbit, I love potatoes so much"!
Me and my husband sare hige Tolkien fans and loved the LOTR movies , so we have made it a strange habit at saying "potatoes precious! Now we just say it without even realizing it! Those potatoes are precious though!
There is nothing like a fresh potato harvest and immediately cleaning and cooking. Just like most veggies. Fresh is the best! And the Shallot realization is freakin' epic. 😂.
I love your surprise parties 😂
❤❤❤ p.s get well soon
Thank you for having weeds too! It makes me feel so much better!
Thanks for sharing your heart Jess. So there’s some pretty big things I been praying for that are pretty much completely out of my control. On Sunday the pastor spoke about waiting in joy and here you are doing the same.
