So what are thoughts on a foundation for this greenhouse? Will be put in a grass lot. Is simply a cement slab along the long sides good enough? Thinking 12" x 60foot. Both sides.

The greenhouse is 28' x 60' total size. Or do I need to go with something like piers on each base leg? Thoughts?

Central Indiana location.

Thank you

Can we assume the building site is level? If not, there’s some work involved.

I can’t imagine making that many piers. You’d need to hire machinery. What you really need is enough weight to hold it steady in a thunderstorm or derecho. Don’t even bother planning for tornadoes.

If things are level, I think I’d be tempted to just lay down a bunch of treated 6x6s, firmly attached to each other. Then I’d drill a few half inch holes in each one, and pound some rebar through them a couple feet into the ground. On top of those, I’d lay 2x4s, staggered so the 6×6 joints are covered, attach them really well, and connect the pipe brackets to those.

Just from ground moisture, those 6×6’s will stay damp, and hold a tremendous amount of weight. They’ll likely outlive that pipe.

Have you considered liteform? It’s a compromise from having a solid pad vs price. That being said a solid pad is easier to clean (powerwasher). There are pros and cons, especially with thermal retention.
