    I have huge cucumber beetle problems. I've been growing standard Beit Apphas but realized last season that one must grow only burpless or the beetles will be attracted regardless….. so this season I've only started Beit Appha…. But I wanted some variety so I was excited to hear about some others….

    I just saw West Coast Seeds selling Socrates seeds…. at 5 seeds for $10.49… FIVE SEEDS FOR OVER $10!!!!!!! If I didn't respect James I'd be using every vulgar word I know right now! That's so obscene. I don't see any other sellers doing much better. I'm beside myself.

    So now I'm looking into the existence of heirloom burpless cuc's and if they're resistant. I don't care if they don't fruit on every flower. If I can save seed, I'll plant twice as many plants with my own seed. Over $2 for a seed. WTF Happened?

    We had too much rain in April and May. My garden started so late I’m not sure anything will do well.

    I finally have huge strawberries growing in southern Arizona. Never thought it was possible. It was 104 degrees here today and they are blooming like crazy. Shooting out runners and rooting.
