This suspicious looking covering appears in my terrarium often. Usually after mist/fog.

Wondering if it’s dangerous for the eco system?
And if so, how to combat.

Thanks!!

    i think its mold.

if your setup is quite new then its normal for mold to appear.

if not already added then add springtails, your setup is big so i would buy multiple packs or one big pack of springtails.
those small critters eat mold and decaying matter, exactly what you need
oh and there is no „too much springtails“
if you like small bugs then i can recommend you add some isopods, zebraisopods are constantly roaming around and doing the same thing as the springtails. the beneficial part is that springtails eat the isopod poop and they produce extra nutrients for the environment.

if you add those critter is recommended starting with springtails and after a month or so you could add isopods.
also go for lavarocks on the ground, awesome breedinggrounds for springtails. isopods also love to lay eggs in bigger holes of the stone.
oh an soak the lavarock for a few days in water (rain or distilled water, tap water is not good because of chlorine and other stuff in it)
