Ordered some fruit trees that arrived with tape (looks like just plastic wrap) bound around the graft. Should I remove it before planting out (or if not , how long should I wait) ? Don’t want to damage /rot the plant and online searches were unclear ! Thanks

Normally I would say yes… were these plants just grafted tho? I’m no expert but this looks like these trees were not ready to be sold.
has tree began to leaf? If not, keep them on. Once the tree leafs out the graft union will start to heal. once the graft union looks like it’s healed you can remove it. Usually you keep the grafting tape on for about 8 weeks. Below is a picture of my grafted Cameo apple branch on my Fuji apple tree. The graft tape will be coming off in the second week of May.
