When grafting with Pere, does it matter if there are leaves on the Pere stock ? Or would the scion grow fine with just a Pere stalk ?

   leaves are must have. if there’s no leaves, on pere, but you’re still grafted on it, you must let pere grow some brunches for leaves (then remove the growth point).

   if pere doesn’t have leaves and it has a graft on it, it’ll more likely stagnate and die
