Anybody know what these red balls are, they’re floating around the top of one of my jars, theres piles of them that just kind of appeared a couple months back, I thought they were a type of egg or seed at first but they’ve been there ages now so I’m a bit stumped, uk freshwater ecosphere nearly 3 years old

IDK about the balls, but the tiny animal between them is a copepod.
