Hello, I purchased a property with this green house on it. Rimol Greenhouse with electric, heat, and water. Both my wife and I have a decent green thumb, and bought this “farm” so we could increase the scale of our vegetable growing, and it just so happens to have a greenhouse on it. Neither of us have used a greenhouse before. What type of equipment should we be getting, is there organizational things we should be considering for placement of plants? What should we know or where can we find the information as complete newbies? Thanks in advance.

Here for the comments. I’m in similar situation. Looks great to me! Good luck!
First off the house if you call it that isnt green so you’re gonna need some paint.
Most of what you need comes down to what you want to grow. Like if you want to fill that thing with wasabi you could build an aquaponics system. If you want to grow a ton of bonsai you would want them all on “tables” so youre not bending over all the time to tend them. This probably isnt super helpful but if I were you i would come up with a wishlist of everything I wanted to grow in there then think about whatever equipment or infrastructure will make that possible.
Looks like the pic winter time. I would plant my seedlings 2-3 months before april in that thing then transfer them to the farm outside in may after last frost. During summer you can grow tropicals like bananas avocados etc or just open the bottom few feet so u dont kill native plants. Or kiln dry a shit load of firewood. Might take u a few years to optimize what u want to do. No rush man good purchase!
Whoa, are you growing bicycles?!
Jokes aside, Elliot Coleman’s “winter harvest handbook” and “four seasons harvest” are solid books on season extension using greenhouses and other infrastructure. I would recommend either or both.
The gravel floor means you’re either going to be confined to container growing unless you want to scrape the gravel and lay down some compost/soil.
Nice greenhouse! It seems like the soil underneath wasn’t a consideration when this one went up ( and that’s not the industry standard). I do veggies and starts in a greenhouse and use the soil on the ground but I do greenhousing from a farming perspective. It depends on your markets and intentions of course and also how you want to deal with pests. What part of the world are you in? Also if I can be of any specific help feel free to dm me.
