2 Gallon Jarrarium
I decided to combine my smaller jarrariums into this 2 gallon jar. All components are locally sourced/re-used from other existing tanks:
– Sand substrate from an existing tank
– Aqua soil combined from the jars that are going into this one
– Various pieces of bogwood driftwood (with many snail egg sacks)
– Rocks from my yard
– Twigs from a trail near my house
– Random plants from other tanks including guppy grass, pieces of moss, hornwort, light amount of duckweed as floaters.
– A couple of stems I cut from a different pothos propagating out the top of the jar (golden pothos above I am working on growing it up the stake 🥲)
No heater, no filter, no accessories other than the grow light above it. Originally had a 1 gallon jar, and two 1/2 gallon jars and moved all the inhabitants to this jar:
– At least 20 bladder snails
– At least 10 pond snails
– 5 decent sized red ramshorns with about 10 more smaller ones, multiple other egg sacks
– 1 nerite snail
I feed 2 algae pellets every 3-5 days, breaking into pieces so they go around the jar. The light is new, so looking forward to seeing this jar do well!

It looks beautiful! Nicely set up!
However, it’s not a self-sustained closed ecosphere since it’s open and you are actively feeding, which kinda defeats that purpose.
