We were blessed with good weather and it was a very enjoyable walk with lots to see.
Although it is in the city center, it is a course with lots of greenery.
Benkei Bridge, the starting point, is a concrete bridge located in Kioicho, Chiyoda Ward, and Motoakasaka 1-chome, Minato Ward, Tokyo.
This bridge was originally built by Benkei Kozaemon, a master carpenter who was involved in the construction of Edo Castle, and was named “Benkei Bridge” in his honor.
In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom beautifully, so I would like to come again.
Shimizudani Park (07:28) is a Chiyoda Ward park located in Kioicho, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. This park is known as the historical site where the Okubo Toshimichi Memorial Monument was built.
It’s a very calm park that doesn’t seem like it’s in the middle of the city.
National Park Imperial Palace Gaien Hanzomon Enchi (29:18) is a park located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, and has just opened to the public on March 15, 2023.
This garden was developed using approximately 7,000 square meters of land that was returned to Japan from the British Embassy in August 2015.
The project was carried out by the Ministry of the Environment, and the park is designed to incorporate an English garden, reflecting its historical background as the former site of the British Embassy.
The gardens, stone walls, waist walls and rose poles in the park are symbolic of the British landscape.
Chidorigafuchi War Cemetery (45:16) is an important historical facility located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, built to commemorate the Japanese war dead who died on overseas battlefields during World War II. I did.
This graveyard was constructed by Japan in 1959 and is used to bury the remains of war dead.
Nippon Budokan (1:00:12) is a multipurpose hall located in Kitanomaru Park, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, whose main purpose is to spread and encourage traditional Japanese martial arts.
This facility, which was built as a judo competition venue for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, is now widely known as a venue for live performances and concerts by domestic and international artists.
The building is octagonal in shape, and its distinctive onion-shaped roof is said to be inspired by the ridgeline of Mt. Fuji, and has been hailed by overseas media and experts as a design symbolizing Japanese culture and spirit.
Due to its history and cultural importance, Nippon Budokan is recognized not only as the “Temple of Martial Arts,” but also as the “Mecca of Rock.”
In particular, The Beatles’ performance in 1966 has been passed down as a legendary event at this venue.
Let me know if there is a region you would like to see.
