Propagation station, and the little train that could.

Storage room in my basement that I turned into my propagating area/seed starts for spring. Went all out. Constant 70 degree’ish room and ok moisture control. Winter suck all the moisture from the area here. Got a little carried away with the black raspberries cuttings. Nearly 60 of those. My thornless blackberries have only 4 survivors out of 18 having took root they were all very small in diameter and seemed to rot. These are doing beautifully.

Also trying out the sand propagation method. These are called hammer head cuttings I think, branches from a main stem, cut on both sides and dipped in rooting powder. We shall see, these were fresh today.

This brings me to the little guy that could. Picture 10. I tossed some rooting powder on him and put him in the pot 5 weeks ago now. This popped out yesterday. Should be fun to see how it develops. I truely thought it was a lost cause.

Life, uh, finds a way.
