In todays episode we have a visitor, who’s been on the channel 2 years ago… lets just say… I never ever learn my lesson!! trashed the plot! while the carnage was occurring, i plodded on in the garden. I built another raised bed. This time a long and slim style to create a permanent bean bed at the fig and olive plot. The runner beans will have a pole structure built the full length of the long bed. This will be raised off the ground to help with the mole damage i had this year. So at least one lesson was learnt this year!! I then collected free bark to mulch the new paths. We are fortunate to have an endless supply of bark for the allotment site. This time it was the best bark ever! The golden bark that brightens up a brown looking plot in autumn and winter. I also brought out the Christmas tradition on the plot. The Grapevine Garden Christmas tree! This will be the third Christmas I’ve had the channel. With the same Christmas tree!! I also discussed me winning plotter of the month in Kitchen Garden Magazine 2024! I’ll be featuring in a month next year. I will let you know at a future date! The growing space is almost finished now.

  1. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Charlie is cheeky! Fab video. I love your energy.
Thursdays chat was really interesting with history etc.
    Take care, Jane

  2. What a character that Charlie is! My new Cairn "Terrierist" pup has learned how to scoot under my garden gate. Even more fun to do it at a full run! I may have quite a challenge on my hands like you with a pup in the garden. The new bed layout looks good. Congrats on the competition win!!

  3. Love Charlie! Bless him, he can't help being a character ๐Ÿ™‚ Plot is looking great, we are in the height of summer here in NZ but you are right your plot will be blooming before you know it

  4. Hi Danny, I just love those beds, amazing! Great to see naughty Charlie causing mayhem on the plot ๐Ÿ˜‚ will definitely be picking up a copy of kitchen garden mag.

  5. Charlie is marking his territory whilst wrecking your area. I see he is not following your command, come here totally ignored, as cute as he is maybe leave him home.

  6. Charlie is just like my benji his so excited he jumps all over the beds, and being a lab,Collie cross he turns into a wreaking bull ๐Ÿ˜‚ even after we take him for a long walk he won't just lay there he then thinks its ball throwing time lol. But we love him anyway. The beds will be full of colour in spring, I'm sure . Take care, Danny, Tracy ๐Ÿ˜Š

  7. Bless him He's having a lovely time. He should visit more often ๐Ÿ˜Š the plot looks lovely Danny with your raised beds.

  8. Love the lives Danny. Will be watching with a festive tipple non alcoholic. Thanks for showing our plot and Linda is so lovely โค

  9. Another great video Danny. Lovely to see your allotment community enjoying a cup of tea together. Congratulations on winning the plotter of the month award.

  10. hey Danny, well done! my raised beds I try cardboard, branches, leaves, food waste, bit more cardboard and shredded paper then compost! poor Charlie, wonder if you bring him up more regularly but with a lead he may calm down more as he gets used to the areas?

  11. Thats why i have a little prison on the plot for Lily ๐Ÿคฃ And even in that she still trashes stuff that in nose wiggle. BUT she loves going to the plot

  12. I had horrendous problems with Moles and I put the rabbit weld mesh on the bottom of my beds as the pesky moles got through my my weed fabric and the voles possibly made the holes first so I would sit the beds on the weld mesh one Mole got into one bed and there was only a hole slightly bigger than a 50 pence coin so never underestimate them.

  13. Aaaw Charlie you lovely naughty little doggie x lol I bet heโ€™s great company at home Danny x dogs and allotments rarely mix do they? I know Janeโ€™s Rocky seem to settle but many struggle to x

  14. Charlie is soooo funny, had a good giggle. You're always welcome at the Feel Good Garden cafรฉ. We had a lovely time didn't we. Those raised beds look fabulous and bark paths looking really good โค

  15. Hi Danny! Charlie is so darned cute. Loved seeing the Christmas tree again too. Traditions can be so awesome. Hope you enjoy your Sunday and have a Very Merry Christmas! Peace, Joy and Hope-

  16. Yea, I agree, your dog is a little too "distracting" to stay at the plot. Danny, you've probably gave an explanation before but I missed it , so why don't you use the wood chip, the darker stuff, to take up some space in the bottom of the raised beds?

  17. Hi Danny, congratulations on being selected as a plotter of the month! – a well deserved win in my humble opinion.
Charlie is cute, and very energetic for his age.
I love the community that you and your fellow allotmenteers have created.
Have a great week ahead xx

  18. Congrats on the win Danny mate, well done. See you on the 21st. I wish we had regular deliveries of bark, unfortunately we are lucky if we get 3 deliveries a year and there are 65 gardens on the site. My shed is like Lindas, basically a communal meeting area where people come for a warm, a sit down, a cuppa and a chat. I will be visiting Cardiff back end of January so hopefully i will get the chance to pop into the plot and meet you.. ( Jimmy from " Todays Thoughts " this is my new channel )

  19. Charlie is so cute! He is so funny! We had a Jack Russell called Max that very much looked like him and of a similar size. Terriers are so inquisitive! He didnโ€™t seem impressed to go home! Spear and Jackson tools are great, I love them. I use them in my garden! All those birds in that sky! Just lovely! That is a good idea using the membrane to put off the moles! Oh wow, all that lovely wood chip! You are so lucky to get it on your allotment! Those spring cabbages are beautiful! Love the Christmas tree! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜˜๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’•

  20. I didn't realise you had a dog Danny, you tell me I don't stop but your just as bad ๐Ÿ˜‚ New bed is looking good. Lovely to have a cuppa at Lynda's. Christmas tree is very cute. Take care ๐Ÿ˜Š

  22. Charlie is just fabulous! ๐Ÿ˜Š Loved seeing him in this video, I hope you never learn and bring him again ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ˜Š

  23. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ this is exactly why Chevy isnโ€™t allowed free run in the garden. That and she eats rabbit poop ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. Heโ€™s marking his turf and well your turf too ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Congratulations ๐Ÿฅณ on being a star โญ๏ธ. Have a fab week stay safe Jackie ๐Ÿคถ๐ŸŽ„

  24. I love the Xmas tree Danny. I have just ordered one for my husband so we can do the same and use it again next year ๐Ÿ˜‚.

  25. Congratulations ๐ŸŽŠ well deserved ๐Ÿ‘ and Charlie running around, marking everything ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ hilarious!…I can understand why you wouldn't have him on the plot as often! Have a great week. Best wishes, Maiju ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฟ

  26. Don't know about Charlie! Digger would be more appropriate lol,He's not weeing just sent marking, bet he would get them pesky moles ๐Ÿ˜Š Anyone who loves dogs is a friend of mine,l love them and lve always had Springers fantastic dogs.Anyway get lots of that new woodchip makes for beautiful paths ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ž

  27. Oh Charlie ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ – he was definitely scenting the area! I picked up an old kid's gazebo off the street the other day (as you do) and I was wondering if I could make it a Dorie gazebo in the summer ๐Ÿ˜‚. Oooooh the jealousy – that woodchip pile ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ – I wish so much we had that on our site. The only deliveries we've had are ones I've managed to organise by being cheeky when I see anyone having a tree felled in the area. Hope to see you Thursday on the Xmas live ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽ„

  28. Charlie๐Ÿ• is so comical….he's a proper little entertainment package all by himself!!! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Congratulations, Danny, on 'Plotter of the month'….what an accolade! ๐ŸŽ‰

    Have a fabulous week,
    Take care, Annie ๐Ÿž ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŒฑ
