I’d love to walk you around my property and give you a December garden tour to show you my evergreens and plants that are still flowering!! Early Winter in My Carolina Garden is fairly drab, but still has some pops of color. I also want to show you what I have going on inside my greenhouse!!! I am thrilled to have a residential greenhouse in My Carolina Garden to store plants, and propagate as well!

My name is Nicole and I garden in zone 8a/8b in Southeastern North Carolina. I do have some evergreen plants I’d like to share with you as well. Some of them are Golden Sword Yucca, and the Kaleidoscope Abelia.

  1. Popping in before watching the end of the video to comment on the nandina. I heard on a JC Raulston video a discussion about nandina being toxic to birds. The belief came from a flock of birds that gorge eat by nature and some died. Apparently, as long as birds have other berries to gorge on, they will pass on the nandina. Raulston have nandina and they haven't seen problems of birds dieing from them.

  4. I believe you are very happy in your greenhouse, which accomodates all those beautiful plants . The greenhouse was a very good idea, saving plantlives and being such a lovely place to stay in. . Some captures from the summer garden are overwhelming .

  5. Old variety Nandina is not poisonous to birds. A lot of people still believe it. My information comes from Jim Putnam from you tube hortube. But they do multiply
