  1. New use for my Lumon glass addition to my house. No heat. So my two new young maples came out of a greenhouse, so now they are in my glass enclosed deck without heat. We had very cold weather last week, and last night, 6 inches of snow. They are fine.

  2. Bought a Taiwanese/Oliver's maple from you guys back in '19 and its already leafed out here near Charlotte, NC. Always leafs out in mid February. Awesome tree with unmatched orange-yellow fall color, like burning embers…when the leaves don't die from late frost (which usually happens unfortunately). Still one of my favorite trees though. Awesome green bark too.

  3. I’ve got white rooting and buds swelling inside my non heated greenhouse already here in Pacific Northwest. Was 70 degrees in cheap greenhouse on a 40 degree day in February!

  4. My ‘Ueno Yama’ in the ground is fully leafed out already in west GA (7b). I know I’m going to have to protect it at some point. We always seem to get one or two mid-April hard frosts (I use frost cloth and take it off when the sun comes up).

  5. at 46:15 you go into reversions in japanese maples. A few weeks ago I purchased Acer palmatum 'Higasayama' from MrMaple (and it looks great, though dormant.) I have heard that sometimes it will throw out more basic looking green leaves in contrast to the pink/cream ones…Is it necessary to remove this growth if and when this happens? or is it not something to worry about?

  6. Awesome plants. Wish I had more space in my garden. My favorite are the variegated ones. Mr maple ships excellent quality plants.

  7. Okay? I can plant the 1 gallon Emma I got in November? It is leafing out. But this is considered, "PLANTING"?

  8. This video just does my heart good💕 The knowledge shared and inspiration is much appreciated 👩🏻‍🌾

  9. I just received all 16 Japanese maples I purchased during the winter time. They all look great with baby leaves compared to my JMs in my garden that are still dormant. I hope NYC will not have those late frost or cold snaps and damage their leaves. My question…. Were These Japanese maples already fertilized before leaving your nursery? I will be transplanting them in a bigger container soon. Thanks for all these info. In your podcast.
