As I stated in my last post, I’ve made several several improvements to the 2.0 version when compared to the original. As opposed to simply being a sealed compost bin with moss on top, Compostarium 2.0 functions moreso like a typical terrarium. It consists of moss, forest soil, pond water, and a much smaller amount of banana peel than the original Compostarium. I made sure to only include as much soil as I believed was necessary so as to be able to generate as much compost as possible at once. When the present amount of banana peel completely converts into compost, I’ll add some more. When the jar gets filled to somewhere between two thirds to three fourths of the way, I plan to empty it back down to the original amount of substrate. Let’s hope for the best! 😁

Compost does not need moss or that much water.

compost occurs more quickly with air/aeration. Sealing the top just guarantees rot.
Acids from the rot will likely kill most things in there aside from bacteria.

If you are interested in succeeding in composting read about it.
If you want a terrarium read about them- what they need to be successful.
There’s lots of information on both online. Get more educated then try your experiments.

Great. The new experiment is launched. Looking forward to the results concerning this one.
