  1. Hey, this episode is my age bracket…and I be a Japanese Lantern. 🏮 🍁 And, I got 10 more JM's in the ground today…step-by-step…hole 1.5 the width, raised the plants a bit, watered, and moved on. I appreciate your recent fall planting advice. Plus, this time I put the roots in the ground and didn't bury the green/red/yellow part with leaves. I'm learning. 👍

  2. Regarding #63.
Jeddeloh is not a regular word in german. But there is a town called Jeddeloh which is located in an area where many nurseries are based. (Lower Saxony)
Most likely "loh" stems from old german and means forest (Wald) and Jedde or Yede oder Jete means drain, overflow (Abfluss) or "to pour, to water" (gießen). This seems to be a hint to a few streams that end in the small river Vehne.

Since old german is not used for a very long time I am not 100% sure but it should be pronounced like that:

    Take the ye from yellow
    Take the de from desk
    Take the lo from local

Ye-de-lo with the emphasis on the first syllable.

  3. The Japanese Maple that really blew me away for fall color this year is Acer palmatum "Alloys". It is the most intense fire engine red. My Osakazuki in comparison has already wimped out and dropped its leave before turning peak color. Our late summer was cooler and wetter than average. So far, our fall weather has been mild and wet. Alloys, in these conditions has won out without a shadow of doubt.

  4. There are a few superstars with fall color here in my garden (New Jersey zone 7A), but the showstopper thus far has been ‘Fountain of Youth’! Amazing colors! It’s def on this list somewhere in the next 2 videos.
