  1. The weather is a bit barmy isn't it, hope my colly's do good, my hubby accidentally knocked one over a few weeks ago & broke it, I said you've murdered one of my colly's lol, anyway I put it in water hoping I would be ok, glad to say it's growing nice 👍 looking forward to seeing what's next to grow 😊

  2. 1st time cauliflower, direct sown in to my raised bed, been nibbled at! Sown some in plugs, now in my cold frame, battened down from the wind! New gardener, great info, no greenhouse, I’ve used neem oil on flea beetles but keep coming back, any ideas, just moved into bungalow and has soil wow

  3. Yeah Ivan I put my beets and carrots pots on the ground very early this morning before work but the flower container got blown off. Question can you do a video with what groups of veggies can be grown together in the same space also can the cauliflower be grown in soil or does it have to be compost or coir.

Thank you and keep up these informal videos.

    Andy 👍🙏

  4. Hi Ivan. I enjoyed your video.👍 I planted some All Year Round Cauli seedlings yesterday in one of those troughs on legs with a plastic cover. Got the liner in, then carefully filled it with used compost in the bottom, then rough compost, then the good stuff on top, and got two seedlings planted…then…I suddenly realized I had forgotten the drainage holes!😱 I thought I would have to empty it all but my husband saved the day by making holes in the compost for the drill to go through. I only hope I get some cauliflower because I have not been successful so far. Thank you Ivan.🌱❤

  5. In xone 9b, I was surprised to get 2 big yellow squash after I got a chance to trim 3 old bushes, waiting for green ones now.

  6. Hey Ivan you can pick the peppers just as they begin to ripen and you can finish ripening on your counter.

  7. Would you not prefer to have basil from cuttings? It’s my first year trying cuttings from a plant I got from the supermarket which have been successful so far but I’m not sure if I can get one through winter (it will be in the house ) but how tough are these basil plants? Cheers Ivan👍

  8. Thanks for that Ivan. Winter spinach, field beans and chard are great for growing through the winter

  9. Hey Ivan.
Winds look to have battered my peas and cucumbers!
Still strong winds now so I'm preparing for a massacre in the morning 🤷‍♂️
It is what it is I suppose.
    Thanks for the video 👍

  10. I love how you are always so positive in what has been a very trying year so far. Will the seedlings be okay in a unheated greenhouse?

  11. agree with you cleaning up time ready for the next season start to plan the next steps good time to clean all those seed trays with water & splash of Milton sterilising liquid whilst its still warm hopefully start some seeds in the light box in December I started with the French marigold & other flowers from seeds from last years plants just put the strawberry cuttings in the green house hopefully we will get some strawberries next year disappointed this season with plants from the local garden centre only got a dozen berries. for the first year as a newbie i think we did well & learnt a lot & a lot of things not to grow due to size time to grow & effort against reward.

  12. Hi Ivan another great video .I am still way behind with my plants tomato's just flowering with a few with a little fruit peppers not even had no flowers yet well that's this year.not worrying about that. Just a little experiment for this year I am trying I sow the seeds every month of what we eat so see how that gets on hopefully have some plants for planting out early next year.Protecting them either with bubble wrap or just in a box in the unheated greenhouse.keep up the good work I try to follow each of your vlogs bye

  13. Hi Ivan, I'm trying to follow your winter greenhouse idea in a growhouse. It's my first year. So far I have perpetual spinach, winter spinach, winter lettuce and white Lisbon onions. I'm having a lot of what I think are fungus gnats, those annoying little black flies you sometimes get around houseplants. Do you get them in your greenhouse? Do I need to do anything or just ignore them? Hannah
