What are the proper names for these two variegations? Both were sold as “Variegated Frydek”

    They’re both ‘Frydek’.

The variegation in this species is all over the place in terms of patterning, quantity/quality, & even color of an individual plant’s variegation.

[A “normal” white variegation ‘Frydek’ can even produce the occasional “aurea”/yellow pup.](https://imgur.com/a/bps6S7U)

I don’t expect a legit registered cultivar of the standard ‘Frydek’ any time soon.

Fwiw, saying “variegated Frydek” is redundant. ‘Freydyk’ (commonly misspelled as ‘Frydek’) is the name given specifically to the variegated form of this species.

The non-variegated form is A. micholitziana ‘Green Velvet’…

They’re just different sizes. I looked at my plant and my newer larger leaves have the waves and the little baby leaves are more smooth. All of my alocasias leaves change shape as they mature.
