Sounds like me in April with two “bush” watermelons in a 3×4 bed. Turns out mine were not the bush variety and they’ve grown to my house which is approximately 12ft away from the garden bed a few times. I’ve been trimming the vines 😅. The bush variety only produces 14-18 inch vines.

If you cut the ends of the vines off 6 weeks before your last frost, it’ll out its energy into the existing pumpkins so they’ll all be ripe by the end of the season

I think thats why it’s called a ‘pumpkin patch’.

I’m sure it’s a pain to mow around that! However, I’m pretty jealous when I see this situation. I planted two squash plants and prepared myself to be overrun, only to get 2 squash before the bugs took it out.
