Passiflora edulis, commonly known as passion fruit.

The makings of any great pornstar martini.

It’s a passionfruit. Generally, the types growing in the UK are the ornamental, rather than productive, and varieties, so it probably doesn’t taste good. Up to you whether you try it – with all the normal disclaimers about the safety or otherwise of eating something you don’t know about.

how can you not know a passion flower/fruit when you see one LOL stay in school kids…

I’ve eaten one, it tastes woody, but not inedible. There are different types of passionflowers and these are grown for the flower rather than the fruit.
Mum had one of those that she swore was a delicate plant. In truth it goes rampant and will be the only thing you grow. It took years of lawn mowing to end its existence. Won’t be having one of them in my garden ever again.

Passion flower yes I’ve got one, it escaped it’s pot and is rampant now. The orange fruits are edible but not really worth it very mild taste.

They taste fine, and are definitely edible, just don’t expect them to taste the same as shop bought passion fruit

Passion fruit requires plenty of double cream

I’ve eaten some from my neighbour’s garden and from a vine that I found growing outside on a fence. You can break them open and see how tasty they’ll probably be – very juicy and bright yellow/orange should be nice! I don’t think they can be poisonous but don’t take advice off random people on the internet. 😆
